i'm trying to bribe my mom into getting a new car. it's totally embarrassing and old. she's thinking about getting a highlander..which is fine i guess. but she gets doubting herself. any ideas for me to get her to buy a new car????

Hello smile4me - first of all, if you try to bribe your mom or trick her into something, she'll resent it; second of all, try a smoother approach, when you two are driving around and you see a car or (if she needs it) small SUV and you think it would work for your mom, ask her what she thinks about "that (for example) blue one?" If you're in a mall parking lot, do the same thing. You both want something practical, as well as attractive. As someone said earlier, a new car is a big expense. Are you willing to give up a couple of vacations for this new car? Maybe instead, look at cars that are pre-owned and come with a warranty, have 3 or 4 years on them so it will cut the cost. Also look at a couple of websites like www.cars.com that you can skim over a lot of options and types of cars. Then back off and let your mom think about it for a little while. If she's stuck on her old car or says you guys can't afford another car for another year, suggest a paint job (like Earl Scheib runs special) and maybe she'll let you pick the color. Good luck.

grow up and get a job, buy yourself your own car. it's her money she can do whatever she likes. If your current car is too embarrassing, then don't get in it. How about no car? Would that be more embarrassing? be grateful that you even have a car.

tell her u will buy it and she will probably love u soooo much and get rid of her old car then u either 1.really buy a new car or 2.say haha now u need to get urself a new car.but that would ruin relationship.

tell her how hot she will look in the otha car. tell her she dont want to look like a tired ole lady at her age, tht she is too young n hot for an ole granny car
