sorry I don´t know the meaning of 572 must be a calculation between wind speed and approximation...
but you may find this interesting:
A severe thunderstorm is a thunderstorm with winds 90 km/h (55 mph) or greater, 2 cm or larger hail, funnel clouds or tornadoes. These storms may contain frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy downpours which can lead to localized flooding. This is a general definition which varies by country and is somewhat contentious. An otherwise weak thunderstorm which produces a wind gust of the required strength would be defined as 'severe' whereas a very violent thunderstorm with continuous lightning and very heavy rain (but without the required wind gusts, hail or tornado/funnel cloud) would not. Many of the violent local thunderstorms which affect Florida so frequently during the summer months would not be defined as severe.

Severe thunderstorm watch number 572 is the 572nd time the National Weather Service has placed a watch this year. A severe thunderstorm watch means that conditions are favorable for severe weather such as high wind and hail. It does not mean that the weather is imminent, just a statement for you to be aware of the weather in your area for the stated time frame given.

I saw that on television before. :)
The warnings have numbers so that when people keep going back to check for the same or other warnings they can see if it is a different one or to see if the last one for their area has expired.
Example:
Severe Thunderstorm Watch 572 was at 4 pm
Severe Thunderstorm Watch 573 was at 6 pm
...it just means that each one is a new warning and allows people to keep track of ones that have expired...
Hope that helped!

It's a watch box number, it's a number that is issued to that particular watch in order to keep records. Watch boxs can either be blue or red depending on the type of storm.

I believe that would be the 572nd watch issued by that weather station. Basically a WATCH means a thunderstorm MAY occur, a WARNING means that it WILL occur.
