Um... anyone who said chicken has their evolutionary biology WAY mixed up or something, because logically the egg came first.
imagine a bird, it looks almost like a chicken, barely any difference, but genetically you can tell, that this bird, no matter how much you want to think it, is NOT a chicken.
So like all birds it mates and lays an egg, but a special egg, this egg has mutated, and inside that egg, is the world's very first chicken.
Clearly, the egg came first. They had a huge debate about this in England recently, and they decided that the egg came first.

The egg came first. Eggs were adapted by vertebrates as a means of being able to reproduce further away from water. First adapted by fish and amphibians. But the first hard-shelled eggs were evolved by reptilian ancestors, allowing them to reproduce in almost complete absence of water. These two lineages evolved before birds, and reptiles are thought to have evolved into birds.

the egg. it was probably made by to different bird species when they mated. which made a chicken. this is most likely because there alot of mutations like that like: a liger (lion +tiger) a wholphin (killer whale + dolphin) beefalo (buffalo+cow) and a mule (horse +donkey).

the chicken must have come first as a mutation of another bird (probably a dinosaur actually) which then laid eggs as its mutation
