well u can edit ur answer in case you forgot to add something, or if you made a spelling mistake. The delete is there in case your answer sucks and u dont want anyone to read it, or you came up with a better answer to replace the one you wrote.

It is b/c if you input ur answer and dont like it or want to change it or change your mind about answering the ? you can edit it and/or delete it.
