dont say left of right, thats describing the side, hello! or other side. the actual antithesis of SIDE as in my examples.

ty, best answer i have received is combo of several and that is center. like a box can have a left or right or front or back side but the opposite to any side, would be its center. another..not the side of the road, left or right or other side, but the center of the road.

According to your specifications, i.e. no adjectives, there simply isn't one. Windward and leeward come to mind, but you will no doubt toss them out on the grounds that they are "types of sides", just as for you with, e.g. "left" and "right", it is the adjectives that are opposite, not "side" itself.

For side, you have to use an adjective/descriptor. For instance, left or right side, front or back side.
