Do you have interest in the exploration of our earth from a greater view point?

sorry to to correct you broxolm but alpha centauri is only 4.5 light years away.
As an answer to the question, there isn't muh point in exploring outside our solar system at this point as it would take millions of years for a spacecraft to reach anything outside the solar system

Well the Voyager space probe is already FAR beyond Pluto on its way into deep space.....

You have to remember that there is really nothing of interest between Pluto and Alpha Centari (The second closest star to Earth 11 light years away) except for millions of particles of space dust and hydrogen atoms. Plus, a probe would take thousands of years to reach anything of any importance. So sending a probe into deep space wouldn't serve much of a purpose other than confuse some aliens or something.

More than likely the future of space exploration will be done by radio telescopes which can "listen" in on the inner-workings of very distance and faint objects.

Don't expect us to be biulding starships anytime soon. Sorry
