All these are free for personal use and they work. You need an anti virus, an anti trojan, an anti adware and an anti spyware.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Either of these firewalls are free for personal use and stop unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. They are both fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

Forget NORTON as it will reduce your system speed/start-up dramatically!

And why do you want to pay for a proggy that you can get for free, and which will work equally as well as Symantec stuff?
