I have a recurring dream of diving off of a high dive that is well over 300ft high. As I dive of the platform there is a pool under me with a whale coming up from the bottom of the pool. As i hit the water I try arch my back so that I can surface before the whale swallows me. I always wake up just as his mouth is forming around me and I am just surfacing.

Yes, It's happened to me before. Not recently. I hear that that occurs when your body becomes so relaxed that you cannot feel the things around you anymore, but yet you're lucid dreaming due to the fact that you're aware of it, usually, when you feel nothing around you, one thinks they're falling. Therefore you brace yourself for a fall and feel the bed again. Others claim its your soul reentering your body after a night of astral projection.

i havent in a long time and I always hated thoughs dreams but, dreams of falling almost always reflect feelings of being out of control - of not knowing “where we are going to land.” When we have a falling dream, we are encouraged to look for areas in our lives where we feel especially powerless yes.
