Right-wing conservative creationists do not believe in evolution because it takes course over millions and millions of years. They can't really grasp the concept of that because they can't really see it take place as well. They can believe in Darwinian economic policies because it can easily been seen within a span of a few decade or years with the help of data and research they can easily interpret. It's mostly a matter of perspective and religion. Most of them probably didn't do too well in their biology class too.

Creationist believe in survival of the fittest. They don't believe one animal evolves into a different species. They believe a species can develop features that can aclamate them to a specific geographical area. Not all conservatives are Young-Earth Creationist, most mainstream Christians are however. Because the theory of evolution contradicts their religious beliefs regarding the origin of life. Economic policies are not discussed by religion, so they are free to believe in whatever economic theories they choose.

Creation and evolution go hand in hand. They are not completely seperate things.
