Sure why not.......Love has NO boundaries. Just because somebody has cancer doesn't mean anything. There are people that are married or get married with cancer. They hold careers..........have children.........so forth. So life should not stop because you have cancer..........live life to the fullest.

where di you get this question??? that was my situation exactly. i was with my boyfriend for 3 1/2 years, i knew he had cancer but i thought he was fine.. i am 24 i was 22 when he died he was 23 and not in a million years would i have thought that that could have happend. i took care of him the best that i could while his health declined.. it was so hard to watch him detiriorate.. now whether or not it is normal ya why not they are normal people too. and i thnk it helped him so much to have me there loving him still, if anything loving him more..
To me i couldnt see myself not making that descision, i just couldnt walk away because the going got tough so to speak.. alot of his family said that to me, that they think im special or something for sticking around.. i feel all it is is that i loved him, and i still do .. my aswer always was that i would take care of him every day of my life.. so, basically i think your boyfriend loves you.. im glad that your cancer is under control, PLEASE make sure you get regular checkups and if something ever doesnt feel right you need to take that seriosly because you have a history of cancer now.. i would give your boyfriend a big kiss. he loves you
how old are you if i can ask?
he had melanoma that moved throughout his whole body

Actually--no it's not common. Young people already have a hard time maintianing a relationship when one is sick relationships become strained so it is even harder. However, those with close friends find it easier some days to forget about their illness and feel normal. However, the other kids/boyfriends should be supportive and understanding and should also have understanding parents that can help them cope with the fact that their friend is ill. It's a group effort really. ..
My best friend of 17 years lost her battle to cancer in 1999.

When I was much younger I had a girlfriend, and then she had throat cancer, and she died. I wasn't there for her like I should have been. Of course, I hoped that if I didn't think about it, it would go away, and by the time I figured it out, she was gone.
If your BF is willing to go through it with you (and I know you will survive) you will have a strong and durable long term relationship. For him to learn to have patience and compassion so young, will be a good thing for him no matter what.

I don't know. But I can't see why not. They are still human. Cancer patients are still very capable of love and caring. And in most cases they probably need it more.
So since we're on the subject... Maybe this would be a good time for me to mention that i'm single have Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma. It's a rare type of skin cancer. You are legal aren't ya? lol. If not disregard this half of the answer.

yes.i have known(and do know) people who have had or have cancer and they are not afraid to explore those kind of options.i coud go into a whole long story with an example of this, but i won't, it is just too long.but i can tell you that i have found that people who have faced illnesses or situations such as having cancer are more loving than those that have not.that is just my experience, and i could be completely wrong, but that is what i have found.maybe it is because these people have faced death and know that they need to make choices carefully and live life to the fullest.i know it sounds a little corny but...what can i say?CARPE DIEM!!!(for anyone who doesn't know, that is Latin for seize the day)
