One, not everyone is the same and not everyone gives one word answers. Two, depends on the question and one's knowledge and opinion. Three, some people are answering for the fun of it, others just want points, some really do want to share their knowledge.
Don't give up, unless you are marking students papers and don't have the time for it. I enjoy the fact that I can write to people thousands of miles away from me and yet still share information about all manner of things. Plus the thanks I get from the best answer category really makes my day!!! Hope you have a fantastic day and stay optimistic.

I can only give you one reason-- because you want to.
No one is forcing you to visit this site and you can't change other people and their responses. You are surfing the internet and you choose where to go... you shouldn't need other people to convince you to stay-especially when you've probably already made up your mind

I think it depends on the question being asked and how little time people have to answer and get onto the next one for some points.
Please stay, there's little enough "normal" people out there! lol

1. The joy you get from helping out other people
2. You get answers from people all over the world
3. Ask. Answer. DISCOVER.
