NO, you will not go to jail for any debt unless they can somehow prove fraud on your part. And that's not likely. So quit worring about it.
Can I assume that you have a collection agency calling and telling you this?
Did you know that if they claim such a thing, they have violated the Fair Debt Collections Act and you can sue them in court for $1000 each time they threaten you?
I'm working with someone right now who was told by a creditor they were going to be arrested and jailed over a $700 debt. They tell people this because you don't know the law! They think they can get away with it.
These people are going to find out they can't. Let me know if you need help too.

No. But your credit rating can be affected. You should try to work out some kind of payment arrangement with the financial office. Usually they'll give you time to make small payments if you cannot afford to pay the bills in full and have no insurance. If you just ignore it, eventually the hospital will turn it over to a collection agency, and they'll drive you crazy with threats, and eventually will post a negative entry on your credit report.

Check the liability laws in your state or country... There could be some very serious consequences to your credit history... As far as jail time(?), it's not likely, but you will have to compensate the hospital at some point in time to remove any negative credit impact...
Check with your local Social Services or Legal Aid in your area for assistance... They may be able to help depending on your income...
Hope this helped

Don't think so , though maybe better try to get to the hospital and pay at least some of the bill , i. e. to show willing + this might be better rhan the hospital having to go looking for you and then possibly threatening you with treatening Qs. like , " Do you like hospital food then " ?

No, all they can do is mess up your credit, send the bills to a collection agency, or sue you in civil court....
