I haven't had a job ever since I turned 16 years old. But I do this work experience program called, "Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21." You get assigned to job coaches and they are to take you to a job-site to just get experience with no money involved. You get to go to various types of places such as daycares, supermarkets, dollar stores, libraries, etc... I've been doing that program for about 3 years. When I'm filling out job applications, I fill out everything except for the emploment history column. Now, should I possibly put on my job applications the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 volunteer work experience information on the employment history column, or should I just leave it blank?

i would put it under employment history but make it clear that you were not compensated for it. in my opinion the fact that you have had so many different types of experience would outweigh the fact that you havent been employed for so long. i wouldnt leave it blank, because they will assume you dont have working experience. this is just my opinion. good luck with finding a job!

There should be an area on the application that asks for other skills that you have that would qualify you for the position you are applying for - I'd enter your Carbon Lehigh experience in that section. So yes, leave the employment history column blank if you have not had any other jobs. If your only 16, employers know that everyone has to start somewhere!! Good luck to you!

Write "see attached" in the employment history and add a page explaining the program and listing the 3-4 experiences most related to the job you're applying for

Well that is hardly a reference is it? A reference is the name and phone number of someone that you have previously worked for. Include the details of your voluntary employment in the "employment" section of the application. Whilst it was unpaid work, it shows that you are willing to contribute to society and have also gained some basic skills in the process.

Showing you volunteered for so many different tasks is a good thing to put on your resume. It shows initiative and experience.

You should definitely fill that out. It shows that you do have experience and that is a plus for you.
