Two weeks ago I started having really bad stomach aches, just below my chest/rib cage, a hard grinding feeling. My stomach is bloated. I have taken over the counter acid reducers, which aren't working as well as they first did. I also have taken tums.
My back also aches, middle lower back. Today went I went ot the bathroom my bowel was a very black and I am burping and have back ache and uneasyness in the stomach area.
I am supposed to be going back to the doctor on July 11 for further follow-up.

You have to rush to the ER! It means that you have blood in your stool, which means that you are losing blood because of a bleeding ulcer! Do you feel dizzy? This is urgent! Good luck.

How old are you? Age has some influence on likely pathology here.
Is the stool offensive in odour? If not, then are you on iron supplements as it is likely due to that. If it is then I suggest you see a doctor somewhat more promptly and check your heart rate as it sounds like you are having a significant gastrointestoinal bleed, probably from a stomach/duodenal ulcer!
Have you vomitted up blood at any point?

Did you take Pepto-Bismol, by any chance? That stuff will turn your stool black. It even says so on the label. Check the labels of other over-the-counter remedies you have taken as well: You just might find out that one effect is that they turn your bowel movement black. ... Go to your July 11 appointment, for sure.

You have bleeding ulcers!! You need to get to the doc before your appt. Drink milk, eat bread, only very bland stuff until you a Dr. It can be a very dangerous condition. Don't wait, even if you have to go to ER! I have been an RN for almost 30 yrs and I am not trying to overdramatize, you need treatment. Good luck!!

what I will say may make your more aware what your BMS are telling you. Great to say you are seeing your doctor, but see a gastrologist a specialist first,BLOOD is in your stools, a gas you have is minor to a certain point, your may be bleeding inside or your diet and food to which you eat is going against your disgestive tract.Meat and red meat is which I been told and read about, works against your disgestive tract and heart too, good luck, milk with peppermint or spearmint works to ease your stomach. OTC meds only help to alittle. good luck with your doctor.

some over the counter medicines can cause a change in the color of your bowel movement, but if your symptoms have not been getting better, i would suggest that you try to get in to your doctor as soon as possible to try to find out what is going on. good luck.
