all my friends read cosmopolitan. should i start?

There are a lot better magazines out there babe. JANE has the smartest short stories and articles I actually want to read! No joke. Also REAL SIMPLE just for the fact that it has so many good ideas about saving your money and sanity.
I would NEVER be caught reading Cosmopolitan. >> In the recent issue (THIS MONTH you can read it and see I'm not lying) my gf pointed out how it isn't necessary to drink ANY amount of water as told by the magazine. Are they crazy? Every month thousands of chicks read this and think "hey, it's in Cosmo, must be true!" don't read Cosmo!

Cosmo is a great mag (in response to some of the crtics on here, I read Cosmo and I consider myself a smart, independent woman... not shallow). It covers a lot of women's issues dealing with our bodies, sex, etc, but it has enough cheesiness in it to make it still a fun read. If you don't think it's for you, another GREAT women's magazine is Jane. It has more of a tounge-in-cheek vibe than Cosmo.

I hear from many people that it is a wonderful fashion/trendy mag, and it probably is! If that's the subject you're look for go for it! But I reccomend Teen Vogue. Not only is it about fashion and all that, it has the real deal about a typical teenage life, and articles about the bad stuff that interfere in a teens life.
But buy each of them and wichever one you like more than you should subscribe to it!

If you really like the magazine, then I would definitely recommend subscribing. It's a lot cheaper to subscribe than it is to buy each individually.
Or to save even more money, maybe your friends will let you borrow their copy when they're finished? :)

Honestly its up to you.. but I do recommend the magazine. It has tons of style, beauty, relationship, and personal advice columns that have awesome info in them. Maybe you should buy one on the newsstand to see if you like it and then decide whether or not its worth the full blown subscription.

no way. don't mean to sound mean, but your friends are shallow.
Beauty magazines only make girls feel ugly, in hopes that they will buy makeup products to "fix" themselves.
Be strong, independent, and think for yourself.
"If you're all thinking the same thing, then someone's not thinking."
Take the money you would have spent, put it in a CD or IRA and be a milionaire when you're older.

cosmo is a great magazine, i'd choose it anyday over vogue or teen people.
Cosmopolitan has so many interesting articles.. not to mention all the tips :)
