The innocence of a child could heal a nation.

Lol! As the mother of a 6 year old and a 2 year old, i'd say my kids teach me a lot about maturity (how to be mature and rise above frustrations, etc.) every day.

In the terms you describe, I would also agree - but that is just because people are all different. I have seem very immature 50 year olds and 12 year olds that were almost painfully mature as well as the reverse.

Some say there are old souls and young souls here on the planet and that the young souls seem almost kiddy and immature their whole lives because it's their first time on earth and that some are very old souls and seem very serious and sober from the time they are small because they are working on a very big issue (or are just bored or tired of some of the tediousness of this earthly existence).

For whatever the reason I think it is wonderful - it's amazing the freedom we have to do and be anything, really. There are no strict rules - there are thousands upon thousands of combinations to be in this world. Best ride in the park, is my guess!

Peace!

I think so. I think as much as adults would like to believe that they are very responsible, adults have been been mislead in their lives even without them realizing it.

Children have lots of imagination and a "can do" attitude until the pressures of the world weigh them down.

With the disclaimer that I'm Christian, here goes-

Yes I think we can. There is a certain quality about little kids (I'm talking about those under the age of 5 or so) that is wonderful- the ability to acknowledge that there are things they don't know (teachable), the ability to forgive, their faith in the "grown-ups" in their life, their compassion. I rarely see those qualities to that magnitude in adults.

I think these are the qualities that Jesus was talking about when He told his disciples that they needed to become as a little child, "for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

We can learn by observing how a child reacts to something with instinctual knowledge.
