Tuna, chicken, ham for example comes in cans. Fresh tuna is hard to find & not available in every store, but the canned is very tasty. Fresh chicken & ham is usually found a the meat counter in the grocery stores, but takes time to cook & some folks just don't cook. The small canned meats make great salads, sandwiches & instant meals for folks on the go.

Because we're lazy!
I use canned roast beef to make taquitos and it cuts out about 5 hours of prep time for me. My family loves taquitos and it takes me long enough to make the 36 taquitos by hand and they won't eat frozen ones. (Seriously, I have too much to do to be in the kitchen all day.)
Or maybe our country just wants to do their part in helping other countries out with trade. The brand of meat I use comes from Brazil and Argentina.

because america is full of heavily over wieght people who will eat anything to just eat...so why not eat meat in a can is my question to you?

Cause people can't afford a gun, a gun license, and a hunting license to go and kill it themselves. Like homeless people.
