Why do men in general degrade women? I know that in some cultures, women have no more status than animals. They are considered property, nothing more.
Why do RAPPERS degrade women? Because it sells lots of records. If people didn't want to hear those kinds of lyrics, they wouldn't buy the CDs. I can't really say what the psychological reasons for this is, but as for a practical reason, I'd put greed at the top of the list.

That is a very good question but the only way to know is to ask like Snoop Doggy Dog himself. I ain't into rap and i don't follow rappers' lives. Sorry.
But did you notice that rappers is kinda like rapists. Just the words. Rapists degrade women. I don't know. There's a similarity there.

Why does the media degrade women? playboy, maxim, stuff, penthouse, commercials on tv, they all degrade women. They make them into sex objects. Guys view in the media and magazines half naked women and naked women showing off their bodies every day. isn't that degrading? rappers just do what everyone else does. sex sells these days, it's a business.

they dont degrade women if you look at the way groupies act they degrade themselves and its thier fault women get treated the way they do in music because they make themselves out to be that way (not all just most) PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE EVEN THE WOMEN IN MUSIC SAY THE SAME THINGS THE MEN DO/LIL KIM FOXY BROWN THE LIST GOES ON its not just men

Sadly, the answer is obvious-- because it sells. You'll find in life that many question can be answered by simply following the money trail. With that in mind, maybe we need to point fingers at those who buy it as much as we do at those who make it.
