If a cam belt seems in any respect worn, you're taking a large possibility. If a cam belt breaks, there's a really huge possibility that the engine will be badly damaged. the wear and tear will be so severe that that is more lower priced to modify the engine than to fix it. if accessible see the printing on your cam belt, it may propose to me that it's not the unique, ten-3 hundred and sixty 5 days-old, belt. See in case you'll locate out from the broking service or a previous proprietor if the belt has been replaced. that is often replaced even as yet another huge interest has been finished on the engine because the fee of the belt is pretty a lot insignificant compared to the labour fee. a good vehicle mechanic might want to manage to tell, by searching, if the belt is old or new yet they are going to not in any respect be sure that that is fantastic now to not modify the belt by using accessible possibility. SORRY: I actually have purely study Jon S's answer. he's extremely proper. Are you certain that this is the cam-belt that you're searching at? SPUD, in the experience that your fan-belt snaps, it would not wreck your engine.

the belt is recommended to be replaced at50,000 miles for a good reason the belt can stretch or break after 50,000 miles
and cause MAJOR engine damage such as bent valves or worse knock a hole in a piston top.

Definitely get it done. It is becoming more and more usual to change it regularly. If you think about it, it is only a piece of rubber that is under constant strain every time you start and drive your car. It will cost you alot more in the long run if it fails

I think those are considered "interference engines" which means when the belt breaks EVERYTHING inside your engine can get all chewed up, not just the belt!!! Replace it!

that is the standard mileage for all timing belt replacement for just about all car manufactures. your belt may last much longer. if you cant afford to have it replaced at least have it inspected,

that is a smart idea, by the way it is a timing belt. they wear out and it is easier to take care off it now when you have time instead of waiting for it to snap when you have to be somewhere
