dishwasher help!?

i have a magic chef dishwasher. just recently it has started doing funky things. now when i start it it runs enough water to cover the very bottom of the dishwasher and then stops. What could be the problem? Is it anything i could fix myself? Any suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

you might have a clog in the water line going to the dishwasher. if you have a garbage disposal, run some water in it and put it on for about 10 seconds and turn the dishwasher on with no dishes. see if that helps with the water situation and if not call either a plumber or call the magic chef company at 1-800-688-9900. they might be able to help you. i hope this was helpful and good luck.
