Depending on the nature of the problem and if regarding marital account -who in fact wrote the bad checks. You could approach the President of the bank and explain the circumstances. He then could put you on a probation period with a new checking account. Worked at one ,so I know that the possibility is there. Again it is up to their discretion.

yes you can open a checking account your credit has no bearing on you getting a checking account

not at most banks, but at wachovia unless you have bed record with them...
