Definitely Ronald Reagan.
He helped release the 62 American hostages held in Tehran by the Iranian government of Ayatolla Khomeini. He contributed to the elimination of the intermediate-range nuclear missiles, ending the threats of the 'Cold War', leading to the domino effects of collapse of the European Eastern bloc countries, and the break-up of the Soviet Union. He revitalized the US economy, re-moralize our arms forces, making America, once again, the strongest nation on earth.
***As for now George W. Bush's the best we've democratically elected over John Kerry or any Democrat presidential candidates in the past '04 general election.
(You may've got the whole world to agree w/ you that he's a horrible president, but he's our president. And, if it serves America & American interests, regardless what the rest of the world think, I'll support our President because I know he'll do his best to serve & to protect this country.
...I know, I know...you & I can always agree to disagree... :) )

Abraham Lincoln(16th president), looking at the amount of hardships and struggles he had to face to become the president -he always remains an inspiring icon for millions and may continue to do so..
As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong national organization.Further, he rallied most of the northern Democrats to the Union cause. In 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy.
Lincoln won re-election in 1864, as Union military triumphs heralded an end to the civil war. In his planning for peace, the President was flexible and generous, encouraging Southerners to lay down their arms and join speedily in reunion.
With Lincoln's death, the possibility of peace with magnanimity died.

Uh...Washington, Lincoln, both Roosevelts, and Eisenhower.
Clinton and Reagan both have their positive points, but there needs to be a little more time before they can truly be judged.
For Bush to come even close to the top the Middle East would have to prove to be completely stable. Otherwise, he will likely go down in the bottom five of presidencies.

You are right about Clinton, but Reagan was just a bad actor that happened to be popular, he did his part to destroy and divide America and in his second term he had Alzheimer's and his wife run the country with the aid of psychics. Those Hollywood people you know.
