Yeah I agree with you. I have thought about that same thing before too. Although your right and many people do try to act like eachother, there are people out there though who do try to be different (like me). And who arent easily sucked into society's demands. But unfortunatley, it seems like there arent that many and people are losing who they really are, and who theyre really meant to be in the process like you said.

That's true, but how would you define "society" if not as a group of people acting on a consensus of virtues, i.e. in a similar or same way?
There are necessary rules/beliefs/laws that define a moral and legal structure within the behavior of a group of people, so it can be called a society. Without people willingly acting like other people around them, there IS no society but a bunch of savages running wild.
I know that's not what you meant and I'm strictly against uniformity that seems to overhelm nowadays culture. But i felt it was needed to point out some sociological definitions.

I agree that that situation exists for many people and that its unfortunate, but many people go through similar uncertainties. Just stick with being yourself if this is a problem for you, eventually this feeling will wear off as you get on in your years and realize that the people who refuse to let you be you are not genuine and don't make for good friends. Then the feeling goes away and you feel much much better, it restores your faith in many things.

It IS easy to forget who you are. You must develop strong boundaries, strong morals, and strong ethics. You need a stronger spiritual base. Every person is body, soul, and spirit and you must have all 3 defined in your life. Society follows leaders so you have a choice lead, follow, or get out of the way.

You are so right! I looked up different a long time ago and it does not say wrong! Why do most people think that is the meaning! Keep being your self, if your "friends" drop you let them they are not worth your time! You will attract real people who will Cherish you for who you are not who they want you to be!
