Ask people around if they need help doing some odds and ends around the house too. Your neighbors that you know and could trust. I use to pick weeds at some old ladies house... she would pay us, not a lot, but it was something and she would feed us. I would ask the elderly as they can't do many things. They wont pay a fortune, some might, but it would be a shot. Or if you knew someone that would pay u under the table at a small mom and pop restaurant or store, work a few hours a week and pay you weekly that could work as well. But being in 6th grade its harder... too bad your mom can't buy you some clothes/supplies for school.

6th grade would make you 10 or 11 right? How about mowing lawns in the neighborhood? Wash cars, wash windows, deliver your neighborhood newspaper, chores around the house should earn you some money! If your mom sees that you are taking inititative to make some money to buy your own clothes, she'll probably be willing to pitch in and help you out by helping you to earn money by doing things around the house!

There's alot of things you can do. Here, I'll list them for you:

Babysitting
Dog-Walking
Lemonade/Yard Sale
A local job

You just have to post an advertisement about what you're going to do to tell everyone. I never did this before, but my sister did for babysitting. She ended up with more money than she needed, and she said she enjoyed the children. All she did to start her business off was post an ad saying how responsible she is and how she enjoyed children. Parents often is attracted to those kind of things [don't ask me why...lol].

Since I'm in highschool, my mom is going to make the same rule for me. She's like, "You got to learn how to do these things before you're off on your own!" Pssh, yea right. That's if she's ever going to let me go! lol but no sweat, I still love my mommy. =]

P.S. I'm an aries =].

Options (but check with your mom before you actually try):
1) Do you have a relative who owns a business (store)? ...maybe ask him or her if you can help out for some spare change.

2) Do you know a person in your neighborhood with a friendly dog? ...maybe ask that person if you could walk the dog. If that person is going on vacation, then maybe you could offer to watch the dog or feed the dog while they are away.

3) Have you considered babysitting?

4) Also consider any special talents you have...like sports, art, music. If you are really good, then maybe you could offer to teach beginners.

1. cut lawns
2. cutting lawns is boring
3. find an old lady near your house, and tell her that you need a summer job, and does she have anything she would like you to do. Old ladies are suckers for cute little girls, so doll yourself up and be super polite. They dish out the money, and the lemonade.

Why don't you try dog walking? You get to work with animals and earn money. Put up posters in you neighborhood so they can contact you if they need you to walk their dog.
