Here in South Florida, the temperature is almost completely in the hands of the warm Gulf Stream current just offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. It's the only reason why our winters have high temperatures in the 70's and why it rarely breaks 90 along the coast in the summer. Further away from the ocean, the temperatures become a bit more extreme.

Yes, I lived in the Seattle area for three years and we had lows in the winter around freezing and highs during the summer in the 70's. Any area where there is a large body of water will always be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. I am living in southern Oklahoma and the summer temperatures are much higher than if I lived along the gulf coast.

yes: large bodies of water moderate temperatures (cooler summers & warmer winters in places near large bodies of water compared to places of the same lattitude that are inland)

Areas near water have temperatures that do not fluctuate that much like inland areas.
