We do have memory of everything in this life, past lives, future lives, and in between life...and most only use 10% of our brain's power...hypnosis allows people to retrieve information. Young children have been known to go into spontaneous regression, remembering past life experiences as well as memories at birth. These memories do tend to become blocked at about age 5.

There is some evidence that they do. Some children around 2 1/2 to 3 years old describe things that their parents say they have never told them about. For instance, in one case, a doctor was almost late to a birth, so he showed up still wearing his sneakers. The child said she remembered seeing sneakers when she was first born. Others have described what it was like even before the birth. At some point, however, all children seem to forget the experience, and I don't think anyone knows why.

There is a thing called Infantile Amnesia. While babies may remember what happened in the womb they can't verbalize it so how are we to know. Most children will grow out of the infantile amnesia around 4 or 5. Think back, you probably don't remember things before you were 4 or 5.

The part of a child's brain that is in charge of remembering long term memories doesn't develop until they are 2 or 3 years old.

I heard somewhere that we have memories of everything we've done in life, including in the womb. We just don't remember that well because we only use about 10% of our brains..

Honestly, the trip down the birth canal, and being squished out a vagina is something that I would NOT want as a life-long memory! Thank heavens for that!!!
Oh, and I agree with what everyone has said about WHY babies don't remember.

Children can't remember anything before they were two, it's just how it goes.
Although some people, very few, can remember something. Like me, I remember when I had to had surgery when I was less than one year old.

Wouldn't it be a little freaky if you could remember when you were being born???

This is a dumb question. Well, because the baby's brain is still not fully developed. Believe it or not, you don't finish developing until you are and old adult.
