That is a complicated question. It all depends on what you mean by "good", and what your budget is. If you want a "real" sword the best way to go is to find a bladesmith online and have one made, or there are a number of companies that make decent swords, the better ones are from germany or spain. Avoid pakistan or indian swords as they tend to be cheaper. The other side of the coin is the pretty swords. They can be found in many places and with a wide variety of prices. Online they can be bought on sites like ebay or museumreplicas.com. The swords there are generally of lesser quality in terms of steel but are prettier than a really functional one would be and are often made to replicate swords seen in movies. I hope this helps.

The best swords are, in my opnion, made by Age of Chivalry:

Most of thier swords are pretty damn relabible. THe best - and I mean the best - Is the Slayer series. THose swords are harmonicly balanced (so balanced they provide a musical note when struck) and are garuanteed for life. OUr guild has roughly 4-5 of the things and they are amazing. Watch the price tag though.
THe other swords will still give you years of perfromance in live steel combat and carry a slitghly more ecnomical price tag

It depends on how much money you're willing to spend on it. Online, there are many shops that sell swords, but they charge a pretty penny too. You could also try ebay, but again good stuff is more expensive. And then, at the mall, there's usually a knife shop that sells swords and daggers too. Try those. Then send me a picture of it when you get one!

I've heard that any Renaissance Faire is a great place to buy medival weapons, including swords - especially the last day of it, when everything goes on sale. I believe they produce the quality you're looking for. Here's the link; http://www.faires.com/choices.php
They list places and schedules for Faires, and might even have links for individual vendors.
