All women are different you are over 3 month so showing I've been told is not uncommon, just be happy your gaining weight and feeding baby.

You could certainly ask for another ultra-sound but if the doctor again finds only one baby, then I would say what might be happening is just a product of a number of things. If you are a relatively small person and/or if you have gained significant weight, it is very possible that you would be showing by now as actually you are already 1/3 of the way through your pregnancy. Although alot of people seem to think you can predict who is having twins and who isn't by looking at their stomachs, that really isn't true.
Good luck with your pregnancy.

At 13 weeks it is normal to show - especially if you are underweight, or are of average weight. If there was only one heartbeat heard, then there's probably only one baby in there.
I'm pregnant with twins, started showing at about 9 weeks. First ultrasound showed twins, 2nd did not. However, 2 heartbeats were heard, so 3rd ultrasound showed twins.
I also suggest discussing with your doctor concerning your size. Some babies may just be big. My first got big really fast, and he was born at close to 10 pounds. However, with my last pregnancy, I got big really fast and the cause of that was fibroids. Every pregnancy is different, even in one person alone. Everyone's body is different, carries babies different.
If the doc says you're fine, then don't worry. Relax, and just remember to take care of baby. Eat healthy - drink lots of water!

A lot of times the hormones of pregnancy will cause you to gain a little weight. The only way to know if you have twins is by ultrasound. If I were you, I would try not to stress about it, just eat right, exercise, and enjoy your growing tummy :)

The doctor is probably correct, even though sometimes one baby will hide behind the other. Everyone thought i was having twins also and i had one healthy baby boy..I had lots of extra amniotic fluid..Don't worry about what other people think and say, it will just cause unnecessary stress.

I swear the day after I found out I was pregnant I could no longer button my jeans. I am 11wks and I wear maternity pants already and as far as I know I'm only having one baby. You could be having twins and one baby was "hiding" during the ultra sound. 8wks was really early to do one.

when pregnant for my 2nd, which was a girl, it seemed like it took forever for me to show, then for my 3rd, which was a boy, i began showing when i was 12 weeks, Dr. and i both thought TWINS!! but no only one!!!
ask for another ultrasound just to be sure, but if your Dr. isn't concerned then don't worry!!!
