Yes. He's 34 & it is time to let a younger player grow into the role of captain before the South African WC in 2010.
ZZ would be 38 then & if he wants to maintain the fitness level over the next 4 years then he should go for it & still play for France.

Without any doubt it is known that Zinedine Zidane is a midfield genius. He proved his worth against Brazil which is a very formidable team. Whether he should retire or not depends entirely on Zizou. If he has the steam to continue, he should. Else he should pave way for youngsters to take his place and he has proved to be a great example for French people despite his Tunisian roots. Le Francais should learn from his example.

I think he could still play football for at least 1 or 2 seasons more, but the thing is he's been such a successful football player...he doesn't need to go out...play for two more seasons and wind up with injuries that could be unpleasant during his retirement....and most likely he'll wind up being a coach or an owner or something like that....I mean the guy does love the game...

I hope that Zizou stays active in the game and I hope to see him leading the French again in World Cup 2010...

Dear Brazil fans... The better team won! Get over it!!!

"No, not nessesarily but yesterdays game was a god damn rip off, BRAZIL SHOULD HAVE WON! Anyone who is French and is reading this I'm sorry I love the french team and now im rooting for them but that was BULL!"

I can see lots of bitterness and jealousy in the author of this text. Please not to be biased and admit the truth -- that's how you'll learn to become a man, boy!

FYI, I am not EVEN French!!! ;-)

he played really well yesterday....and hes already 30...so i think that if france happens to win the world cup, it would be a good time for him to retire.
