Ask yourself: If you tore a book, burned it--watched it burn--and three days later, it comes back from nowhere in one undamaged piece....what the heck would YOU do then????

haha it has happened to me before, but i also spilled a pot of coffee and it was on an english book

the first thing to do is assess the damage.
did you tear the flyleaf or did you tear out all the pages?

if its just one page.. get some clear tape and tape it

if you are returning it to a library, i recommend dropping it off and getting out of there as fast as possible..

if you tore the cover off the book then glue it back on just dont get the glue everywhere

if there are some pages out.. tape most of them and just return it

but make sure you get out of there a.s.a.p.

it happens
goodluck

Well,, First you can b honest and tell them the truth and pay for it.
Second you can just return the book in to return box not to Librarian (if they call you and say pay for it, just say you didn't do it,)
Third, just buy new copy,
Firth glue them
Fifth ask someone else to turn in for you (don't tell them that they might have to pay for them.)
Sixth tell the librarian it was accident and apologize them really nicely (who knows, maybe you won't have to pay for it.)
Seventh ,,,, WORKING ON IT!
