You can't change the subject line in Yahoo mail. You could if you were using a POP3 account and received the mail on you computer thou.

You don't need to do that thou. For what you want, all you need to do is create folders in your Yahoo! Mail, then you sort the old messages by moving them to the appropriate folder.

To make a new folder in Mail, with the inbox open, look on the left margin (where you select inbox, bulk, trash, etc.). In the top of that column is the word Folders with a link to Add and Edit.

Click on the Add link and give the folder a name. Once the folders you want are created you can move any message you want to any one of the folders you created.

To move a message, while in the inbox, select it with the check mark on the left end of the line, then click the Move button at the top of the list. Select the folder you want it to go to. Done. To move multiple messages, select each one with the check mark before clicking the Move button.

The Move button is also available while you have the message open.
