i approve of it because thats what the consenting adults want. Why should they live their lives unhappy because the church and government said so.
I also like it because the more gay guys the better women ratio for me.

One thing that people must understand is that you have to seperate your personal religious beliefs and politics. No matter what anybody's individual religion says is wrong, you have to look at it from a social point of view ... all marriage is really is a legal agreement, and who is George W. Bush or anyone else to say that its wrong for gay people to enter into the same kind of legal agreement as straight people? I really loved the answer that if everyone was gay, the human race would be over ... as if making gay marriage legal would promote the entire world to become gay. I think its hilarious that all these high and mighty republicans are so concerned about protecting the sanctity of marriage ... but don't go after adulterers with the same zeal that they go after homosexuals.

1. It's same-sex marriage. Gay people can marry all they want as long as it's to a person of the opposite sex. The debate is about being allowed to marry a person of the same sex.

2. I "believe in" it because people should be all judged on the same level as everyone else. There are laws in the world and there shouldn't be any laws against homosexuality; especially since it is a natural occurence and both people are perfectly consenting adults.

Why get married to begin with ? ... if two people of the same gender have sexual relationship that's their business ... not an entire nation should be bothered by such an issue ... however , apart from what the holly books said or didn't say , marriage is for a purpose ...biolgically ( reproduction) ... and to convey a wider message of love in our life ... so heterosexual is the natural way of marrige in my view
Secondally ,the way how this issue is circulated through the media is so distractive , aimed ,in my viewat keeping the focus away from the real issues .

No I do not believe in Gay Marriage. I would have no problem with a civil union that is equivalent, but marriage has been attached to heterosexuals for so long that I see that we should preserve this. I am also against having sexual orientation be added to the EEOC since what you do at home is personal and it is already against the laws to discuss private issues in interviews for public jobs.

YES! And the government should NOT be allowed to say anything as long as it does NOT affect anybody else. Why should the government have any right to step between the HAPPINESS of two people? Remember the US Government tried to do that back in the Civil War times between Blacks and Whites! Then it was done again between Jews and other nationalities. This simple item of MARRAIGES has been tested and lost many, many times in the US! It is in the Constitution the "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL".........Somewhere the Constituiton of the United States has lost all meaning to the political leaders who are sworn to uphold the Constitution. They all want to pick and choose what parts they want it to represent!

No I do not, But the world is changing so fast. THere should be a diplomatic solution to it. First I think the whole debate is garbage, a FEW gays wanted the limelight on themselves for their 15min of fame and Poloticians jumed in for votes. I am not against gays, but like any race or what you call them I believe they should be treated fairly...but not given special privlidges. It is setting a poor example, like women competing in Mens golf tournaments, Hey they have Womans Tournaments that Men do not try to play in. I say gays should have equal rights not special rights. THe definition of Marrige is between a man and woman, not a man and man or somthing else....where will it stop then....People will marry their cats, dogs and cars?

What is there to "believe" in?

Anyway, I guess to answer your question - yes. I believe in personal liberty and the government has no right to dictate whom I am permitted to marry.

God has absolutely nothing to do with it, so before the Christian conservatives start ranting about abominations, etc, please note that not everyone is a Christian, and not everyone weds in a church, and there are weddings in which God isn't even mentioned.

Also note that while some like to focus on sin and so-called "abominations" let me just say that everyone sins ... and it isn't necessary to "repent" or pray to an invisible man - if want to, be my guest. Oh, and one more thing ... when the Conservatives try to amend the Constitution to ban the sale of shrimp in restaurants (eating shellfish is an abomination according to Leviticus), then I'll consider abridging the rights of law-abiding citizens based on religious ideology.

What is marriage it is the joining of two people that love one another. Who says that it is a religious ceremony that must be consummated by god the same people that wish to control every aspect of your life, the church. What people do in the confines of their lives is their own business. I agree with Muslims and the Indians(from India) on one key aspect of law. It should be against the law for anyone to exhibit acts of affection in public. This is a private matter and should be kept to the confines of your own home.

I believe that in the eyes of the government, marriage should be a civil union between two adults. Their gender should be of no consequence to the government.

Individual churches should have the right to accept or deny marriage should they wish to do so. (they are private organizations who have the right to make up their own rules).

No because that's not the way God nor the bible intended life to be. I believe that people that want to sleep with the same sex have some sort of mental problem, which can be proven. The Bible states that man on man relations, is a sin, so the same must apply to women.
