I bought what I thought is a designer Anjolique gown from a nice bridal salon and when I got home, the tag said made in china, polyester......is this normal?

If you like it keep it. Most gowns are non-returnable. =(

A wedding gown isn't usually based on the cost of the fabric. Does it say anywhere on it that it is an Anjolique gown? If so, the tag you read might simply mean that the fabric was polyester, made in China. If it doesn't say Anjolique, take it back to the nice bridal salon and ask if they are selling knock offs made in China. Anjolique would love to know about it if they are, as China doesn't pay royalties for using brand names or designs.

does is look like polyester? It could be the cheaper version of an Anjolique gown. Like how outlet stores have designer things for much less...they are designer duds, but they make them for the outlet stores, they use less expensive fabric, less embilishments, less fabric detail, like pleating, tufting, etc. I mean, you bought it because you liked it-right? But now that it turns out to be polyester and say 'made in china' now you dont like it? No one knows how much you paid unless you tell them. Besides, I know people who pay WAY too much for a dress they wear once. As long as you like it, keep it.

You could also try to contact Anjolique, their website has all their contact information and you can see where they sell their dresses in retail shops.

My gown was beautiful, only cost $400 on clearance, and was made of polyester.

Who cares as long as the gown is beautiful?

I have no clue what my gown was made out of. The petty coats were very hot and stuffy though. Had those off before I showed up at the reception.

Ummm, no. I would take it back and demand a refund. That is a knock off of an antique. Would you settle for a knock off bag? Desk? Lamp? No. Get good and pissed and get your money back. You could have an original gown designed and made by a seamstress for that!

It's pretty standard, I think. My daughter's was an Alfred Angelo, $750, polyester and made in China. But it was beautiful, fit her well and she loved it. So it wasn't a problem.
