How about if they played 5 v 5 on half the pitch? Or, if they played on the full-pitch, take a player out from each side, every minute? IOW, after 1 ET, 10 v 10, 2 mins 9 v 9, etc... what about those alternatives?

I am glad the " Golden Goal " is not used any longer. Pk's seem to be a better way of settling a tie, a lot less time consuming than a total re-match. The players are already worn out after extra time has been added. Perhaps FIFA could take a poll from all teams and go with the majority of the votes on how to settle a tied match.

A rematch sounds the best way..but it will be time consuming & throw the schedule off track. Also tell me can a player play a rematch just the day after a 120 min extra time.
I hate it too but PK's dont have alternative.

Penalty kicks after 120 min are a cool way to end a match! Some say these are lucky wins - yet it all comes down to good preparations - mentally and skillwise!

I agree, that the should either extend the game, if not reschedule it because you can´t judge a whole team by one player against a goalie...Its really based on luck...nothing more...You basically, have to guess if the ball is going in the middle, to the left, to the right, I´m sure they´ve studied which sides the players usually kick...but its stupid.

I think they should be kept. If a win by penalty kicks is viewed as distasteful by a team then it will continue to serve as a deterrent to letting the game get to that point.
