Annual hours are calculated as an average of 2,080 a year for a 40 hour work week, full-time employee.
In calculating a yearly salary into an hourly wage you divide the yearly income by 2,080 and you will find your hourly wage.
So in this case of an annual salary of $23, 912, divded it by 2080 and the answer will be the hourly wage: as shown below:
23,912 divided by 2080 = 11.496 or 11.50 an hour.
Hope this helps. It is the easiest way to figure wages as long as you can remember to divide the yearly by 2080 work hours.

Well, this is probably the long way but the average person works 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year (minus two weeks holidays) so divide the total by 50 and then again by 40. It comes out to about 11.96 per hour. It's a good average

If they work 40 hours a week You can divide the amount by 52 weeks in the year and that's how much they make a week. THen divide that by 40 hours and you would ge thte hourly wage. Make sense?

23912 / 52 / 5 / 8 = the average hourly wage. This is assuming that that person makes salary and works full-time.

Rule of thumb... divide an annual salary by 2000 to approximate hourly wage.
40 hours over 50 "work weeks" (if you get two weeks for vacation, which is average).

Assume the person works 40 hours per week and gets paid vacation/holidays.
40 hr x 52 weeks = 2080 hrs/year
$23,912 / 2080 = 11.50 /hr.

i could have tried to figure this out mathematically but that would take time away from my relaxation. however i just happen to have a wage conversion chart from an employment office and the a rough figure would be somewhere between 11.00 and 11.50 an hour
