You can find a church youth group (www.upci.org)
Talk to the school counselor and find out if there are any sports you might be interested in that start at or before the beginning of school
Sometimes colleges have programs for high school age kids during the summer you could try.
Get a job at the mall or a fast food place, if you are old enough

Hello.
I know the feeling. My parents moved me sooooooooo many times, I had three high schools. UGH! and I was shy.
If you aren't confident, hold up your head and become confident. the best way to get to know someone is to ask question.Show that you are interested. Look around for people like you. Try to be where they are. Choose to join the swim club. Choir, cheerleader. furtuse farmers of america,,,,,whatever interests.
Borrow a penis. then comment something like. thanks for the pencil I iwll give it back after class. btw I love your hair, where do you get it cut? Can you get the phone number of the place for me
I am new in town and not sure where to go for what. Then if you notice that she is taking photograpny. tell her you like taking pictues also. You are creating a contact, asking a favor, and setting something up in the turtue. Then next week after you get your hair cut show her and thank her.Ask her what productes she uses. before you knw it you will have a string of potential friendsl
You can do it. go gurl go

Introduce yourself, let people know your new to the neighborhood.

Well there is always Myspace.com You can search by schools and if there happens to be people from that school on myspace, you can message them....perhaps start a relationship like that. You can also read their pages, get to know more about the people. It's a very resourceful place.

Try going to the local pool or recreation facility for people your age. I'm sure you'll meet someone there. Just strike up a conversation with someone who seems nice and let it go from there.

Try joining a sport and then you can make friends with the whole team. If you have a marching band join their colorguard or march. I meet my bff and my role model there. Since I joined I have felt less shy.

Don't be shy. For some reason, people tend to judge shy people. They think that they are stuck up, and they won't talk to them. Try joining a club that has people your age.

If you have a dog, Walk It! Everybody loves dogs, right? Who wouldn't? I promise you that you'll meet people that way.
Or you could meet the neighbors and see if there are people your age. GOOD LUCK
