I'm not referring a religious "spinoff" holiday, I'm talking from a stricly business angle. (Personally, I don't even agree with Sunday or holiday shopping - I'm not religious).

Most big retail stores do begin getting their Christmas shipments in July. They also begin testing Christmas music over the store intercom. Christmas in July? We're there already.

I certainly hope not. With the holiday advertising they have now (esp. Christmas, but it is getting that way for a lot of holidays), it would be overkill and enough to drive a person nuts.

I hope not. Although I am not a christian, I admire what Christmas is SUPPOSED to be. Retailers and advertisers have high-jacked it, though. I think we buy to much useless crap to begin with. The last thing we need is another excuse to buy more.

Geez, I hope not. But I'm sure if the retailers really pushed it they could pull it off, at least in the US. People tend to do what commercials and hype tell them to.
