Why did people says that Walmart pays ($8 an hour) it's employees unfairly while places like Best Buy pay ($8 an hour) their employees the same. Do you think the American Economy would be better off if we stop buying at Wal-Mart, and brought stuff at other stores? It's seem most retailer pay employees the same, maybe I am wrong.

I am not for or against WalMart. I just want to hear people thoughts I just think it's funny how people are attacking WalMart for the way it pays it's employees when other retailers pay near the same.

Wal*Mart has a very strong anti-union management. Whether their pay is adequate or not, the left and unions in particular are against Wal*Mart because they haven't been able to unionize them and get union dues from the workers.
Wal*Mart is also extremely aggressive with its suppliers, demanding lower and lower prices every year, some of which they pass along. In my opinion, given the huge size of Wal*Mart, they have been instrumental in driving more jobs out of the US and into China, as companies find it more and more difficult to cut prices to them.
So, if you think moving jobs to China is bad, then Wal*Mart is a key villain. If you think that is just the way business is, then Wal*Mart is a keen competitor. You choose.

I don't like Wal-Mart simply because of the quality of the products and also the second reason is that every time you go there, they have 30+ registers, but only 5 of them are open and have a huge lines in front of them... If Wal Mart and best Buy were paying the same amount per hour, I would go for for the Best Buy without any doubt, just because I don't like Wal-Mart .

Well first off McDonalds starting salary is less than 8 bucks depending where in the US u live. Are you gonna boycott them. Again Walmart walmart's around the country pay different not all pay 8 bucks an hr. So I dont think u are fair in saying that the Economy is better off since they do have a high percentage of people who work there and u dont want them to lose jobs do u?

Wal-mart is going to be around and will help the economy in the local areas. They provide many jobs for the area. Those who say they will shop at places other then Wal-mart for the same items are morons, why pay more for the exact same item. Every retailer gets their supplies from the same place...overseas...
I realize Wal-mart does take away from the small business owner, but we might as well look at the good things they offer, since they are not going away.

The minimum wage in the United States of America is $5.15 USD.
If Wal-Mart is paying $8.00 USD per hour then Wal-Mart should reduce their wages more to help the economy.
They have 2,000,000 employees and if they reduce the wages they could hire 500,000 more employees with the same money and that would reduce unemployment and crime.
Also the money spend on welfare would be reduced drastically.

WMT effect on the economy is one reason there is low inflation according to the Federal Reserve and Benanke. WMT keep prices low thus keeping the prices of competitors low raising the standard of living of middle class Americans. WMT is good for consumption and the more we spend the better for the economy.

Everytime that yellow smiley face "rolls back" another price, an American factory worker loses his job. Wal*Mart destroys more jobs than it creates, and the bulk of the jobs they do "create" are Wal*Mart jobs...
