brown or sludge alga often appears in new tanks. You tnak is going through a cycle right now where the ammoniums are changeing and breaking down through bacteria to nitrates and nitrides the water is stablizing. The proteins in the water are high and the algaes have a big amount of food. It will lessen when the tank gets cycled out and the bacteria number enouph to cleanse the water. Takes about six weeks sometimes. Do 25% water changes every week. Cut your lights back. Keep filters clean and if it sets in natural sunlight block that out. Just clean it off and vacuum the gravel with water changes it will lessen when the tank fully cycles.

That sounds like brown algae. Which generally indicates you've got poor water quality. (High nitrates/nitrites???) Are you using a gravel vacuum once a week? Is your filter running okay? Is the aquarium getting too little light. (Green algae too much light, brown algae to little) You might want to consider testing your water. Either with a kit, or finding a pet store that will test a sample of your water for you.

That "algae" is diatoms, a gramatical nightmare. Anyway, those are eaten any algae eating fish, and are often found when low light conditions apear. Try replacing your lightbulb.

Also, you say the tank is new, that means it is cycling, where fish waste gets converted to less harmful substances. This can also cause diatoms. Just be patient
