yes you should apply moisturiser before foundation as it helps the foundation go on easier and reduces the risk of it being patchy giving you a smoother appearance, the reason why your face goes blotchy after applying powder is because we sweat through the pores in the skin, just reapply a little powder and you ll be looking good again in 20 secs lol!

Hey,
First, make sure your skin is well prepped. This is the most important thing. Exfoliate at least twice a week, cleanse, tone, and moisturise daily. You need to apply moisturiser before foundation to ensure your skin is even and supple else your foundation can flake.
In addition, you need to wait at least ten minutes after applying moisturiser before putting on foundation so that your skin has fully absorbed the moisturiser. Then apply a primer, such as MAC primer as this helps keep make up on and is well worth the money!
Use a moisturising foundation as this may stop it flaking, and if applying powder do not use too much, if using a primer it should not be necessary!
In addition, this will not keep the look as natural and could be the reason you are getting blotchiness.
If you gave details, or contacted me with the makes you are using it could help.
Invest money into your make up. Buying brands that are more expensive may seem like a waste, but it will give you better, more flawless results!
If you do not already go to a counter in a department store, such as house of Fraser or MAC. Ask them to demonstrate applying foundation and powder and what types are best suited to your skin. They will not charge and it will give you a better idea.
If you do already, make sure you are using the correct skin care products for your type of skin, and that you do all of it twice daily. Also, make sure you take your make up off properly every night, not just with wipes as this does not take it all off, as this could cause blotchiness.
Anything else don't hesitate to contact me,
hope you sort it out soon xxx

No you dont have to use a moistureizer before foundation. Try to find a foundation with a moistureizer in it. Also try not to put powder over your whole face just on your nose and a little on the forehead. You can also get foundation that goes on as a cream but then goes to a powder finish!

Maybe the powder you're using doesn't mix well over the foundation you're using. I'd say just experiment with some other powders and foundations to find which one works best for you. This could be because you are applying too much foundation, so when you dust the powder over your face it just blotches.

Besides, makeup isn't everything. Maybe you are wearing too much.

I apply moisturiser before my foundation otherwise my face would feel tight. It's important to moisturise or you'll end up with dry skin. It'll also give you healthy skin for the future instead of dry crusty skin lol. I also think it makes it easier to apply and blend in your foundation. The problem i then get is a shiny face but i just dust a little powder on those shiny areas, or you may not mind abit of shine as it could look like a healthy glow.

I use a cream which also prevents spots like 'CleannClear'-dual action moisturiser, or one with WitchHazel in. This is to prevent you from getting any spots as face cream can be very thick and greasy.

you should apply moisturiser to your face five minutes before you apply foundation. you should apply foundation with a sponge using one side to apply and the other to blend it in. it gives a great even result. then when you dust the powder on dust the excess off this should give you a great result. the reason it goes blotchy is due to oil production in your skin reacting with the make up hence putting moisturiser on balances your oil levels.

you dont have to apply moisuriser before foundation but it makes it go on smoother and spread easier so you have to use less plus the foundation doesnt looked caked on and it looks over all better and natural.

If your foundation goes blotchy carry a make up sponge with you, and touch up at lunch.

I always use moisturizer before I apply my foundation because it makes my foundation go on smoother and it keeps my face moisturized underneath my makeup so my skin doesn't turn dry, thus causing "blotchiness." I hate it when my skin gets flaky, so I am a stickler to good moisturizing! I hate dry lips, hands, feet, etc. It's my pet peeve.

yes!
see what foundation does is cover up everything including ur pores and skin
u cant tell but it does
and also miosturizer takes off makeup so if u put that on last then it wouldnt do anything for ur skin and just tske the foundation off
so put the moisturizer on first then let it sink in for about five minute to where there is no chance that the moisturizer will take off ur foundation then put ur foundation on :)

well this is an easiy question , yes it probably better to appply moisur before your foundation if you have dry skin or you want to have a clean face. the problem is powder don.t do it,. unless you hive time to wait for the moisuriser to dry.
