Chuckles and BS aside, taking the red pill will remove you from your world of comfort (read that as the world you think you know). You will be an outsider looking into the zoo of humanity. Just as Neo saw the people trapped in the fantasy world of the Matrix, so too will you see the frivolity of most people's lives in the world in which we live. Although the Matrix story was an allegory of our world, there are harsh truths embedded in the allegory.
As societies, we have become part of the herd, and therefore follow the whims of the herd. To take the red pill means that you remove yourself from the herd mentality and start to think for yourself and become Independent of, rather than Dependent on the herd.
You don't have to take a red pill, to take a red pill, if you get my meaning. But it's always easier to take the blue pill and become part of the herd. Having said that, there is a threshold that you pass with the red pill mentality after which no amount of blue pills will ever lead you back to the herd mentality. Living after the red pill can be quite hard and will definitely set you apart from the herd. I will also leave you criticized, spurned and spat upon if you share your red pill knowledge with the members of the herd. It takes courage to take the red pill. It's always the easy path to follow along on the blue pill path - anyone can do that. The whole world already does.
Just as Morpheus said, once taken, there's no going back, and that is true in life. The red pill is the equivalent of knowledge. You can never unknow what you know, therefore, you can never go back again to not knowing.
You can keep taking the blue pill of self-enforced ignorance, or you can take the red pill and become a fully informed, fully functional human being. That's the choice, and it is a hard one that takes strength and courage. Notice that Cipher did not have the courage to face the real world and wanted to be plugged back into the Matrix as fast as he could. Unfortunately, this is how most of mankind is - cowardly and always seeking the easy path. Is that how you want to live your life?
Ask yourself that, and you will have your answer as to which pill to take.

I cannot help answering this silly question will a serious answer. I am a registered nurse and as such I advise you to not take either but because you said you're Neo I stay take them both because purple my favourite colour.
