For some reason guys are intimidated by smart girls.Be out going and have a sense of humor.See if the guys are attracted to you then.I am sure they will see a different side of you.

I think a lot of guys are intimidated by girls that are intelligent. The best way to go for a guy is get to know someone who doesn't really know you for intelligence or anything. Join some after-school activity with a bunch of people you don't know, you could easily make some new friends who know you for you, not your test scores, and you could find love, too. A lot of guys really do like intelligence in a girl, it just scares them.
My current boyfriend and I have been together a year. We met right before I graduated from high school. After our first couple of dates, he went to his friend and just gushed about how well we got along, but the thing he put the most emphasis on was how smart I was. Guys really do like that.
Maybe you should shoot for someone a little older than you? Sometimes older guys understand smarter girls a little bit better when the girl's a bit younger.
If all anyone sees you for is your intelligence, then get out there and find something else to identify yourself, too. If you're good at acting, join a drama club, if you're good at sports, join a team. Show the world that you may be incredibly smart, but that's not all of you.

I love smart girls, but some guys don't because the intelligent ones can see through all their BS and it makes dating so much harder for the losers/users/dogs.
Don't hide your intelligence, honey, because the right guy will find it to be a real turn-on. Everyone else is just intimidated.

SAME THING OVER HERE:Thats maybe because guys want someone that's equally dumb as they are.
They cant handle anyone smart. There will be guys who will like you, dont worry about it. Im smart and Im not a guy magnet like those who arent smart but I dont care. I want someone to like me the way I am. :)

Girl, thank you SO MUCH for asking this question!!! I'm going to put it on my "Watch List" to see what you come up with, OK?
I've always been one of the top 10 smartest people in my grade. (I graduated #8 in my class of 151.) Not only that, but I've always been one of, if not THE, most intelligent people in my class. (For anyone wondering, yes, there is a difference between "smart" & "intelligent.")
Anyway, I've never had a REAL boyfriend. I had a kinda-sorta-not really "bf" Junior year...he fell asleep at Jr. Prom. When we DID "go out," it was a struggle to keep him engaged in conversation. Short version, he wasn't intelligent enough for me.
I'm going off to college this year (thank God Almighty!), & I am REALLY looking forward to NOT being the most intelligent. It's hard!
I've been waiting for college.
Now...I'm going boyfriend-hunting! (Just kidding...kinda!)
My advice to you, especially since you sound like me in Sophomore & Junior years, is this: WAIT. In high school, you're with SUCH a mix of people. Wait for college. You don't WANT the guys right now; wait a couple years. My life was SO much easier once I decided I was going to wait. It's one less thing to worry about!!! TRUST ME!!! In the long run, you'll be happier!

Many guys *love* smart girls. I do.
There's probably something else you're doing wrong. Take an interest in guys you like, sure, but don't make it too obvious. You wouldn't want to come across as needy!

I'm really smart, on the national honor society and take ib courses. but i still hang out with guys that aren't let's say as intelligent. and they always tell me \how great i am. it has nothing to with smart it's your personality that sets them off.

That's okay. That means that most likely the smart guys will like you because they know that you aren't just a dumb girl. Also, the smart one will make more money later. (Wink wink)

Don't ever play dumb, but don't rub people's noses in it either (that goes for girlfriends, too.) Don't ever correct people's spelling or grammar or facts directly. Find some areas where you're not so hot (Sports stats? Auto mechanics? Computer innards? Kant?) and let somebody else shine talking about it.

Men are such sissies when it comes to intelligent women. Don't worry about it. You will meet a guy who is not threatened by your cleverness. Don't compromise just to get a guy. You might regret that. Be proud of yourself and avoid guys who judge you like that. Good luck meeting a sensible man. They are rare but they do exist.
