I think the best thing is a french manicure. But if you don't want to have a french manicure all summer here is what I do:
I paint my nails with french manicure polish. Then I take a thin acrylic overlay to protect it. Then if you choose to wear a different color that matches your outfit all you have to do is apply two coats over the french manicure to change the color.
Then if you want to go back to the french manicure all you have to do is use NON-ACETONE nail polish to take of the polish and then you will have your french manicure back.
This is so convenient because french manicure goes with anything and if you don't have time to polish your nails you can still have a great look for summer.

Darker pink is my favorite for my fingernails, dark blue is my favorite for my toenails, but not at the same time. Usually I don't paint my fingernails if I'm going to have blue paint on my toenails, but I do both my toes and my fingers pink when I decide to go pink.

I always go with a neutral pink. Blues make me look sick, like I'm really cold. I like to go with a little color that looks more natural.

I usually wear pink. sometimes i wear light blues. i'll wear anything light. sometimes i go with a darker blue but lighter nail polishes to me are better.

Depends on what time of the year it is .... and also your taste and style. Don't worry about fitting in with the rest,,, pick and be happy with what YOU like. By the way... mine is corals and pinks in the summer and red and burgundies in the fall and winter :)
