Check out SanDisk. I currently have a SanDisk Sansa m250 MP3 player ( 2 GB ). It's great. Just connect it to your computer via USB. Open it in My Computer, and start adding and dropping songs in its folder. Its easy. They have better versions of there MP3 line since I bought mines at Best Buy. Check the website out to see which one suits you the best. Also, it does have a screen for all their MP3 players that manufactuer.

Check out Creative Zen MicroPhoto, I currently own a Creative Zen Microphoto 4gb and I love it!! The sound and graphic quality rules, thanks to the OLED screen. It holds 2100 songs Plust thousands of pictures. It has FmRadio/FmRecorder, Organizer that syncs with microsoft outlook, voice recording feature, and all of this is integrated unlike with the ipod. It also has this awesome blue glow around it. Its the perfect size it fits right in your palm. Its a good mp3 player, the only thing about it is that there is an option to change how long the backlight stays on, but you cant turn it off, so that really kills the battery. Other than that its a really good mp3 player and I think you should look into getting it.

Good Luck Choosing

It depends what you want. Cool low quality mp3 players are available from fifthunit.com where you can find things such as video Ipod nano replica 2GB for 80 dollars. They only have a 3 month warranty though. Other than that the sansa e260 4GB slim design is a good choice if light weight and video playback are important to you. It is only 160 dollars on sale and is as thin and attractive as an Ipod nano. The sansa has a full one year warranty.

I like Creative players.

My wife has the Creative Zen Microphoto:
8GB, lightweight, easy to use.

I have the Creative Zen Vision: M:
30GB, longer battery life than the iPod 30GB, plays videos, easy to use. (My six year old son was browsing the videos I downloaded for him from Brickfilms.com and other places).

Creative also has some new, tiny, players that were just announced -- the Creative Zen V and Creative Zen V Plus. 1-4GB in size. Longer battery life than both of the above. The Plus does video.

Most of the players have FM recording built in (the Zen V may not).

The listed players all work with subscription music services such as Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go, Rhapsody To Go, and Napster To Go. They also support music purchases from Yahoo, Rhapsody, Napster, Walmart, MSN, eMusic, and more. They support ripped music from CDs. And they support Podcasts from Yahoo Podcasts, Zencast, and many other sources.

I like the iRiver Clix for its design and features, the Sandisk Sansa e200 series mainly for its ease of use, and the Gigabeat S for both the size and support for Vongo.

The iRiver Clix looks sleek and has more features than the ones listed below. It only comes in 2GB, and supports MTV's new URGE music service.

The Sandisk Sansa e200 line is very good. I got one in March. It's the size of a Nano, but a bit thicker. It supports videos, photos, FM radio, and FM & voice recording. It comes in 2GB, 4GB, 6GB, and is very durable.

Tip: It's on sale for $150 for the 2GB, $190 for the 4GB at Circuit City. You get x2 the space of the respective Nano.

If you need a lot of storage, get the Toshiba Gigabeat S. It's a bit thicker than the iPod Video, but it's smaller in every other way.
It's got video and supports Starz Vongo. (a movie rental service).
It holds 30GB and 60GB, about 15,000 and 30,000 songs.

All of these are PlaysForSure compatible meaning you can use it with Napster, Napster to Go, Rhapsody, Rhapsody to Go, Yahoo! Unlimited, etc.
