the theory that we have now doesn't mean it is the best theory, it is just that we can not come up with a better explanation. if we find life in other planet, may be we will come up with a better theory of life development. so be optimistic about it .

It depends on the type of life and the environmental conditions.
I guess they would be more complementary than contradictory.
Anyway right now there are a lot of speculations and theories about how small molecules organised themselves to give birth to a primordial cell. Finding a planet where life is near that stage would help us fill in the gaps and formulate better theories.

Well...you see...in the first act it would be put pressure on Church...because the story of Jesus Christ and the Christianity would fall.The imagine what chaos would that bring(wars, crimes) on the Earth.Then we depend on the personalities of the aliens.If they are friendly then is ok if not....i don't want to think about.

It would, IMO, add a further proof to our present knowledge, assuming, of course, that the life follows our own rules (descent with modification, fidelity, fecundity and longevity, etc) which it very, very likely would.

our life evolution now is based on assumptions only but now we can have an day to day observation from which we can answer more in better way and could know more facts.but it all depends on conditions on others.
