I have been wearing contacts for since I was 18 and I am 26 now. At first it was hard to keep my eye lids opened because-- usually are eyes lids close as soon as a foreign objects comes on the eye.

So, first make sure that you hands are clean, then if you need to clean the contacts- place the contact in the palm of your hand and squeeze a few drops of contact cleaner on your contact and rub the contact with your very clean finger, (be careful not to rip the contact)very gently. then place the contact on your index finger (best not to have long nails) and with the opposite hand, use your index finger and you thumb to hold open your eyelid, then look straight up or straight ahead and place the contact on the eyeball, blink slowly to make sure the contact gets in place then you're good.

Always keep the travel size cleaner and case in your purse or car, in case your contact drys and comes out of the eye, you can instantly have something on hand.

Also, take contacts out every night, to prevent that protein enzyme build-up (slimy white stuff) in the eye and also to prevent eye infections, like pink eye, I have had a few, not fun and very uncomfortable.

Getting your eyes used to contacts will take time but they will get used to it, now I can put them in without looking in the mirror, my eye muscles are now trained to stay open longer to put contacts in.

Get used to blinking alot! Good luck..

I'm 16 and I've worn contacts ever since I was 11. Don't worry, it's simpler than you think. You don't feel them in your eyes at all unless they are dirty when you put them in - if they are, you just take them out and clean them.

You can buy ones that you wear through the day and take out at night, or ones that you can actually sleep with in. I wouldn't reccomend these, only because they can cause eye infections.

What they are is little round pieces of rubber basically that fit over the colored part of your eyes. It's great when you first have them in because you will be able to see everything around you (not just in front like you would with glasses).

If you are considering trying the ones you wear to bed (day & night contacts is what they're called), I'd suggest trying the ones you just wear in the day to start off until you get more used to them.

Most people catch on pretty quickly so I'm sure you'll have no problem! Good luck :)

It's pretty easy to get used to and surprisingly not as gross when you're the one doing it as opposed to watching someone else. They show you how to put them in at the eye doctor. Just make sure your hands are always clean, you have eyedrops on you all the time, and don't rub your eyes! Makes 'em slide out sometimes. :P I find it's easier to get them in by putting one on my index finger, pulling down my lower lid with my middle finger, looking up, just setting it in there, then closing my lids and it slides right into it's proper place. Put some eye drops, blink a few times and you're set! I still like to wear glasses every once in a while, but it's nice to have something else when you don't feel like having something on your face.

Wash your hands very very good with soap and water and just practice pulling your lower lid down and gently and slowly touching your eye. That's what I recommend to the people I'm teaching. Also, just don't think about it. The person that shows you how to take them on and off should have really good tips to help you. If not, feel free to email me and I can try to answer any of your questions online. Good luck and congrats!

When you start it is really weird and your eyes are sensetive, but after a week it goes much faster. The most important thing is to make sure they are right side out and a re clean. good luck!

If you use make up, put it on after you put your contacts in.
