Yep....... best band ever.

It was such a trip to know that millions of people in the world all wanted the very same thing.....for at least a few weeks.....

A new release from The Beatles.

I used to see 25% of a record department with just Beatles' albums. When a new one would come out the whole department would be stacked with them.

The first time they played on the Ed Sullivan Show it was coined a "British Invasion".

Strange, now, to think that the whole Beatles thing only lasted from late 1963 till they broke up in 1969.

The best 6 years in music history.

Can you believe John has been dead 26 years, already???!!

How much more music would he have put out and collaborated on???!!!

How can you measure the loss and sadness of losing him??

This is a hard question, but I have to say "Yes". The reason why the Beatles is the best is simply because they changed everything that came after them. The only other groups who did that were in punk and hip-hop, and that is divided up into several groups. The Beatles gave us classic songs and probably heralded psychedelia, the singer-songwriter tradition of the seventies, the rock concert as an event beyond just the music and a blueprint for anyone trying to learn how to construct the perfect song.

Very insparational in ways. But still calling them the greatest band is a stretch I beleive there is no "greatest band". For the reason many people have there accomplishments. Just because you have a whole bunch of people buy your records doesn't mean your better than anyone else.

On a personal note, yes the best.
According to history, the most influential rock band.

But don't be surprised with that description, Jimi Hendrix is described as the most influential rock guitarist.

I guess when you think about it they really can't say "best", but they're being diplomatic in saying they were the most popular.

definatly most influential band ever. however the best? highly doubtful. To me Queen is the best band ever. But to others it could be such bands as Black Sabbath.
