has any1 else had very slow internet becuz of myspace?

my bro goes to myspace now he used to go a lot but he didnt for a while and now that he started again the internet freezes up and its very very slow? has this happened to any1 else? and if so how did u fix it? ive used SPYWARE DOCTOR, NORTON< SPYSWEEPER, and windows defender HELP!!!! INTERNET VERY SLOW ( I HAVE BROADBAND AND THE INTERNET IS GOING DIAL UP SLOW!!!!!!

i dont mean going to the web site myspace i meant that my bro started going again becuz he stoped going for a long time and the day he started going is wen the internet in generall started slowing down really bad and i scan and update my virus software twice a day! please HELP

There are two points that I can make since I have been frequenting myspace.com

1. Myspace.com is free to the user community and depends heavily on advertising. Over the last five years, the ads that used to be static or simple banner / click ads have changed (for instance answer the question and win a free cell phone with the person or thing moving around to catch your attention). These enriched advertisements load before the content of the page can load and often times are the reason for the slow response of the page.

2. I also noticed that a program called COWABANGA was added to my programs, even though I refused to answer yes when it popped up (while using myspace.com). This is spyware / adware and my spyware program did not catch it. In fact, to even leave the pop up loop it gets me in, I have to use task manager and end Internet Explorer. Go to START / SETTINGS / CONTROL PANEL / ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS and see if you have any new programs such as this one and remove it. Also, these pages heavy in graphics may cause you to have to clean up your hard drive more often. Go to Programs/Accessories / Systems Tools / Disk Cleanup and see if that helps as well.

I've never gotten anything 'bad' from visiting MySpace. If you aren't downloading crap from peoples' profiles you should be okay. I notice a lot of times that MySpace is very slow to function, but I realized that thousands of people are on it at 8 o'clock at nite. If I visit other sites online, I don't have any problems.
You said you're running your anti-spyware programs...are they finding stuff? It could be BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) slowing the internet down. Try downloading Mozilla Firefox at www.mozilla.org
See if it goes any faster in Firefox...that's what I use.

I have that problem! lol. It sucks! But it may not be just myspace. I found out earlier that theres a new virus out there,that can do just that. Make the computer slow, and even turn your comp off and on constantly. OR if its not a virus from the net, go into your control panel and in you performance options for your computer, you may need to defragment the disk depending on hoow much stuff you have there.

You know the same thing happen to me when I use too use it but now I stay away from that web site and My computer is running better. Run your anti virus everyday because I got a lot of viruses from there

if it is slow in myspace, then it is because there are 90 million people in myspace now, it can't work as fast as it did, try going at different times when it is not so busy

Myspace is certainly not the cause. Have you verified your cable connection reliability? I would also check for auto updaters and the like in your startup files.

sometimes this happens with me cause something is wrong with their server;; and Tom the myspace god has to fix it;; and people put alot of crap on thier myspace so i doesn't load as fast;;
or i could just be your computer
