weight lifting will not stunt your growth. It will, when done properly, stimulate an increase of natural human growth hormone. That is how the muscles get larger. Depending on your age, you should avoid some exercises that can cause excessive stress on joints.

You will need to make sure that you have the proper equipment (belt, shoes, clothes) as well as making sure you know how to use the various benches and barbells/dumbbells in order to do the exercises.

Depending on how old you are, weight training can be a plus or a negative. In young children and teenagers, lifting heavy amounts puts an extreme amount of stress on your bones and lead to disfunctional and disfigured bones. It is important to find a lisenced instuctor to help you in case you decide to start a weigth training program, they are the most qualified people and will lower the risk of you getting hurt or damaging your body. Only use small weights to condition if you just want to tone out your body, its alot safer!

Nope. It keeps you healthy and lean, and increases bone mass in young women. When you get older you'll be glad you started on a healthy path so young.
