after it stops it will turn over but not start... when it has sat for awhile it will start again but after you gain speed again for awhile it does the same thing all over again...

Interesting. I assume this an inboard. What Engine (Chevy/Ford) is this and does it have Electronic Ignition? IF, it a Chevy with Electronic Ignition you may check the Pickup Coil. ALSO, what ever Engine you may get a Repair Manual From that year model at a Auto Parts Store. I would just get one for that Year model of Truck. IT should give most Trouble Shooting Tests for your Electronics and be cheaper than a Marine Manual. These Engines about the same as a regular engine on the outside. I even Replace Starters and Alternators with Rebuilds from Auto-Zone or other Parts Store, never had a problem.
